Our Gold Heart and Silver Heart Patrons make it possible for Dallas Art Therapy to serve community members with quality art therapy mental health services. Give Now
How does it work?
Become a Gold Heart Patron by donating $350 annually in effort to meet our $10,000 yearly base fundraising goal. The Silver Heart Patron level contributes to this goal as well by committing to donate $250 annually. We’ll reach out to remind you when it’s renewal time each year, and we’ll keep you informed throughout the year about the good work we are able to do because of your support. Three years commitment is preferred.
How exactly does your support help?
Dallas Art Therapy programs have been in high demand. These needs spiked and have continued to rise since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic. Your support helps provide individual and group therapy sessions for those needing financial assistance. This is a way we bring high level art therapy to our community on a daily basis.
Your gift would help maintain ongoing open studio times for groups like our popular SOS: Sarah’s Open Studio. Your gift would also help to provide more frequent offerings of our recently kicked off First Monday Art Club and Art Therapy for Therapists program. Specific details about these offerings are available on the following page.
You’ll receive
In gratitude for your support, you will be featured as a Gold or Silver Heart Patron on our website, social media, and newsletter with your choice of personal or company name. You will also be invited to an annual Patrons art making event where you can create works of art.
Dallas Art Therapy Programs
These are the programs that you help support as a Heart Patron!
Free and Low Cost Clinical Therapy
Our free or low cost clinical therapy sessions help provide access to art therapy, and they’re a major way we serve our community on a daily basis. Always facilitated by a Masters level, trained art therapist, the art therapy style of counseling is experiential and offers the client ways in which they can take immediate action to relieve challenges they are facing. The style works very well for all ages, and we serve a range of clients from 6 to 80+ years old. One interesting quality of art therapy is its “doing” or action based nature. Because of this, the approach can be a powerful modality for children, youth, young adults and anyone who is learning to articulate difficult experiences.
SOS: Sarah’s Open Studio
Sarah’s Open Studio honors the legacy of board member Carolyn Apocada’s daughter who had a heartfelt desire to share her art and her story if it would help others who suffer find relief. Sarah loved Batman and the color red. These gave her a sense of comfort and safety. The SOS group chose to use the red bat signal as its symbol. The red bat signal is a special way that Batman would call out for support from his closest allies. Sarah’s Open Studio calls out to those in our community who need support. This offering takes place on the 2nd Saturday of each month from 2-4 PM for adults
Monday Teen Art Club
We recently began the Monday Teen Art Club as an opportunity for teens who want to socialize and make art in a safe and supportive environment. The club is led by local artists and art therapy interns whose work and expertise we highlight. Meet on the 1st and 3rd Mondays and is for teens 13-17. Limited to 6 participants.
